Hunger Unwrapped: How Organizations Tackle Food Insecurity During A Crisis

COVID-19 has changed everything – including how our most vulnerable neighbors access enough food to eat every day. With more than 1.2M unemployment claims filed statewide since this pandemic began, demand for nonprofits has soared while the volunteer participation that the organizations rely on has declined.

So in the world of social distancing, where health is a top concern, how are nonprofits continuing to feed the people who don’t have access to enough food while also ensuring food safety?

Join United Way of the Greater Triangle for this Unwrapped panel, featuring Triangle nonprofit leaders diving deep into how they’re addressing food insecurities during the pandemic:

  1. Maggie Kane – Founder and Executive, A Place At The Table
  2. Alan Winstead – Executive Director, Meals on Wheels of Wake County
  3. Lisa Jones – Director of Crisis Programs, Urban Ministries of Wake County

This event is free but space is limited. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. For any questions, contact Allyson Cobb at acobb@dev-unitedwaystaging.pantheonsite.io.
