Many folks right here in our backyards are struggling to get by.

Dear friends,

As we near the end of 2019 and enter into the holiday season, most of us are looking forward to a time of family, food and cheer. Unfortunately, as is highlighted in Jamie’s story, this is not the reality for all. Many folks right here in our backyards are struggling to get by.

Jamie’s story of seeking help from the Catholic Parish food pantry represents just one of the more than 200,000 individuals living in poverty right here in the Triangle every day. Thankfully, she was able to connect with the food pantry and the wonderful, collaborative nonprofit partners supported by United Way. The wraparound services she received lifted her out of poverty and provided her the resources, skills and strength she needed to create a better life for herself.

Will you help us provide that hope and sense of opportunity to each and every Triangle resident?

You can make a difference in the life of more neighbors like Jamie. Every gift to United Way helps us convene these meaningful and productive nonprofit partnerships, creating the infrastructure to better serve those in need. Your generous donation during this season of giving makes that, and so much more, possible.

Your partnership—and your gift by December 31—will help us lift more of our neighbors out of poverty. I hope you will join us and will provide a lifeline out of poverty for our neighbors like Jamie!

Gratefully,

Eric Guckian
