Andrew Borresen is excited to join the United Way Greater Triangle team as Chief Philanthropy Officer. Andrew comes to the organization with a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector and expertise in relational philanthropy, fundraising strategy, resource development, and corporate partnerships.
After beginning his philanthropy career in higher education, he most recently served as Director of Resource Development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties (BGCDOC), where he led the team that grew the organization’s charitable revenue streams and expanded BGCDOC’s community of donors and partners. What he loves most about his work is getting the opportunity to build authentic relationships, in which donors and partners see how their generosity can create lasting, positive impact in our community. He subscribes to a servant leadership philosophy, believing that “to serve is to lead.”
Andrew, his wife, Jenna, and their two sons are grateful to call the Triangle home. Outside of work, he loves to stay active by volunteering within his church community, playing basketball, chasing his boys around the yard, and exploring all that our region has to offer.
