Economic mobility is the umbrella under which everything UWGT does falls. Our approach describes how we do that work.
“United Way Greater Triangle is an incredible funder of our programs. That helps us achieve our mission of building home, community, and hope.”
Jennifer Player, President & CEO, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC
When we back an organization, it means the groundwork has been done, the outcomes have been reviewed, and the evidence points to sustainable impact. Funded organizations gain access to a network of corporate partners, peer organizations, and cross-sector relationships that strengthen their work and expand their reach. Investment isn’t only dollars moving through a grant agreement — it’s the hours a volunteer navigator spends with a family, the expertise a corporate partner lends to a program redesign, the mentorship a resident offers a young person entering the workforce. We align capital and community talent together, because a coalition with money and no one willing to show up doesn’t move as far. Every commitment is focused on advancing economic mobility for Triangle residents.
“United Way Greater Triangle is one of those partners you never want to be without. They bring different organizations together so we can serve more families and more children—and serve them better.”
Mamie Moore, Club Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnston County, NC
Once a solution has been implemented, we assess its effectiveness. We learn what worked, what fell short, and why. We amplify the solutions that demonstrate impact so they can reach further, and we use every finding to make the next investment smarter. This is the compounding effect in action: every dollar invested produces more than it would have on its own, because of the infrastructure, relationships, and coordinated effort that come with it.
“United Way Greater Triangle has been an amazing partner in helping us amplify our work to others so we can get the support we need to do this work every day. Not only have they helped with funding, but they’re helping us get our message out, which is so important.”
Michelle Old, Founder & CEO, Diaper Bank of NC
