Hannah Parker is the director of volunteer and community engagement with United Way of the Greater Triangle. She was born in the South and was raised by a collective network of family, friends, and neighbors. This upbringing has shaped the way she lives and works, centering community through collaboration and symbiotic support. Hannah is celebrating 12 years of experience in community engagement through her professional journey in the music industry, project management, event planning, and nonprofit management. When Hannah’s not working, you can find her in the woods, on her bicycle, in a body of water, writing short stories, making pottery, playing poker, or taking on house projects she will never quite finish.

What Drew Me to UWGT?

As someone who was born and raised in the Triangle, I knew from a young age that I wanted my community to be at the center of the work I did. Over the years, I’ve seen the Triangle change drastically and become a leader in industries and a beacon for folks looking for a better life, while people and spaces I love have been displaced and discarded. We’re at a pivotal point in our community’s story and it is deeply important to me that equity and justice are the main characters.
